Over Head Music: Continuous Music Loop

January 6, 2012 under Music

Remember each time you walk inside a mall, there is almost always music booming overhead, the music is more often jolly and lively which is usually aimed to set the mood of all customers. A significant percentage of mall visitors actually will not notice the background music; people are either too busy shopping or they just fail to notice the ambiance set by the mall. Even if these people did not notice the over head music, the intended effect is still felt. Various studies point to music as having a hypnotic effect on people, even if the music is hardly felt it will still have an effect on the psyche of the person. For this reason alone it is highly recommended that background music should be adapted to other establishments, even including the small-scale variety.

Another manifestation of the effect of music is the music adapted in telecommunication. Several phone carriers have offered additional services such as ring back tone to replace the generic ringing tone we hear every time we place a call to someone. Another example is onhold music that replaces the silence every time the call is placed on hold. An effect of this this is a cooler head rather than being irate because of being placed on hold. Every person would rather hear a soothing tone than dead air; it promotes calmness and it relaxes the nerves. Because music is a universal language, it does not matter what language we speak and as long as music is placed we will all be able to sing along a popular tune.
